A full moon happens when the moon is in exact opposition to the sun. In astrology, the opposition always suggests a polarity and a need for balance. In the case of a moon that is full, we are referring to the balance of understanding what it is that should be held, and what it is that has come to a culmination point and needs to, therefore, be released.
I celebrate not only the full moon in Sagittarius, but also my husband (born on the 14th, 33 years ago), and 2 soul level sisters who I’ve had the pleasure to journey with. Apparently June 14th is a popular day to come earthside?! It’s an interesting interplay of new and old, this full moon. A New year, that is, for him, and also the “new” that has to do with the ever searching energy of the Sagittarius archetype.

With the full moon in Sagittarius, we want to look to Jupiter who is the despositor of this full moon, and at the same time to keep in mind that together, cohesively, the planetary energies work together to share a message.
Jupiter, Mars, Chiron conjunction in Aries

The first big cluster of energy happens in Aries, where Jupiter is moving forward at 5 deg, 43 minutes. In a loose conjunction we have Mars at 15 deg, 20 minutes, followed by Chiron, who is conjunct Mars exactly at 15 degrees, 55 minutes of Aries. Jupiter always wants us to look over the horizon, see the potential beyond. With Mars and Chiron right on top of eachother in this bundle, we are looking at where we are facing pain in our efforts to move forward and make progress. Because Mars rules the first house, this pain is likely related to our sense of identity, or a feeling of rejection. Sometimes, despite our very best efforts, things do not go the way that we have hoped for them to, and this energy provides an opportunity to reflect on the pain of past occurences that might be sustaining that fear of rejection, and to move forward with gusto and courage. (The Mars energy also has to do with courage since it’s about initiating newness and exploring unchartered territory).
In the wisdom gained by reflection, we can respond by understanding how to move forward in action, and with a new understanding of how that life challenge can serve as a springboard for not only our own development, but as a means of serving others who face similar challenges. If we are willing to go toe-to-toe with the rejection we have faced in the past, it can be transformed from a place of pain to a place of empowerment. A deep understanding that the rejection that we have faced from the outside is not reflective of our worth, rather it’s a messenger telling us “Here! Right here! THIS is where you are built to bring innovation and new perspectives.”
Saturn sextile Moon

Saturn is still slowed down in Aquarius, moving retrograde at 25 degrees and 10 minutes, AND making a near perfect sextile to the Sag moon. The retrograde motion of Saturn tells us that the action to be taken is inward directed, and the sextile speaks to us of an opportunity that is available based on focused and intentional action. Here, with the Aquarian and Sagittarius energies involved, we are discussing the uniqueness of your understandings about life. Because of your experiences (Saturn), you have a unique understanding of certain things and a certain set of belief systems.
Where are you experiencing limitations in your own life due to your resistance to honouring your own counter- cultural beliefs? Where do you need to turn down the volume of the outside chatter, and lean into your own inner brilliance? While the Aquarian energy is a collective one and is experienced in a group setting, it manifests through us individually. This full moon in Sag is providing an excellent opportunity to shake off the inner restraints that hinder us from fully exploring how we would otherwise show up in the world in a way that honours our uniqueness and individual sparks of brilliance.
Neptune square Sun + Moon in kite formation

Neptune at 25 degrees, 24 minutes of Pisces squares both the moon and the sun creating a dynamic tension and asking for change. This configuration, called a kite, has it’s release point at the tip of the point which would be Neptune. The tension here lies between the careful balancing of our mental perceptions, and our inner wisdom, which often “works out”, even if it doesn’t quite “add up” on the rational plane.
Neptune here is asking you to sus out where deception or illusion has crept in, by leaning into your inner knowing. What information have you been fed that is not the (entire) truth? What thoughts are you thinking on the regular that are not in line with the high vibe life that you aspire to? What beliefs are you holding onto that are not supportive of the experience and creation of your very best life? What beliefs are you living by that are not your beliefs at all, but rather were given to you and have been carried around since?
This is an energy supports both surrender and inspiration, and in the nature of a typical full moon, we are being asked to discern what can stay and what must go.
Uranus, Venus, North Node + Mercury direct conjunction

Last, but certainly not least, is the gathering of Uranus, Venus, the North Node and Mercury, at 17,20 and 22 degrees of Taurus, followed by 0 degrees of Gemini, respectively. It’s a gigantic “chunk” of energy that is in Quincunx to the Sagittarius moon. This quincunx tells us that this conjunction is not efficiently communicating with the moon, leaving a blind spot in these 2 areas of the psyche. With the Taurean energy, we are aware and have an understanding of our specific needs and need to make practical changes in order for these needs to be met.
The moon can tend towards stubbornness, in that it’s objective is to sustain a sense of inner security. In studying the 4th house archetype (which is where the moon is at home) we understand that our security and identity is established by a type of familiarity. That favourite sweatshirt that we always put on after work. Having our home a certain way. Taking the same route to work etc etc. The natural upset to our familiarity creates an inner resistance and a blindside in fracturing (Uranus) our established security in order to make space for our needs (Venus) to be met. We want security and ALSO we want to innovative change.
The way to deal with this energy is to become aware of the existing tension, then move in a way that supports both sides of the dichotomy. You want to work out and support physical wellness (Taurus) , and also you hate the cold (security, moon) and it won’t stop raining so you cannot go for a run. As an example, in a situation like this, one could decide instead to do a YouTube workout in the warmth of their home, which satisfies the desire of both energies and creates a stream of communication.
So what to do with all this information? What’s the bottom line of this Sagittarius full moon?
To sum it up: How can we change our thoughts and understandings about who we are uniquely, in order to move past the pains of the past and into a life that is more inspired, more aligned?
Here are some questions to consider to understand how this full moon energy is playing out in your life. You can also pull up a free chart at astro-seek and determine which house the full moon is happening in to understand more specifically what area of your life is affected by this energy.
1- Looking back, where can you put your pain to work by extracting the wisdom gained from that experience, and understanding how to move forward in a different, better, way?
**Moving from the past while learning from it
2- What good idea or stroke of insight has appeared, that requires you to embrace your unique perception in order for the idea to be realized? Where do you need to get outside of your comfort zone and just “take the leap”?
**Acknowledging your legitimate human fears, while choosing to live in alignment
3- What thoughts and beliefs do I need to leave behind because they do not support the inspired, high vibe life that I want to live?
**Eliminating hazardous mental structures
4- How can I implement the practical changes that I know my life needs in a way that acknowledges and respects my needs for security and comfort?
**methodical change
Creating a short prayer is a great way to integrate the moon’s energies. Post it somewhere where you’ll see it, and go back to it as the moon moves through the wane of it’s cycle. The remembrance will support the seeding and growth of your intention, and act as a reminder to consciously move towards the glorious existence you’re living and/ or meant for.
My prayer for the full moon in Sagittarius
As the moon fades, so does my attachment to past pains. I honour the learning that arose from that situation, and choose to move forward in a new way that puts into practice the wisdom I’ve gained.
As the moon fades, so does the attention and prestige I give to my fears.
As the moon fades, so too do the mental structures that run in opposition to the inspired life I am working to build.
As the moon fades, so does my inattention to the methodology that will make practical change sustainable in my life.
And so it is.
Still climbing,
this week I’ll be climbing with cake in hand,
